Kuzey Star Shipyard has signed a floating pool agreement with the Russian FSUE Atomflot company for nuclear icebreakers. According to information obtained by Denizcilik Dergisi (Maritime Magazine), the floating pool, to be constructed as part of the "Development of Coastal Infrastructure for Multipurpose Nuclear-Powered Icebreakers Program," initiated in Russia under Project 22220, will be completed within 29 months and will commence operations at the Murmansk Port.
With a capacity of 30,000 tons, the floating pool will be 220 meters long and 48 meters wide. It will have a pile height of 6 meters, allowing 30 people to work onshore continuously for 7 days without setting foot on land.
